As you ponder the question, know this: The money tossed at faltering countries from the IMF comes from its member nations. And wouldn’t you know it, we represent ~17% of the total “share.” Keep that in mind when you hear anyone saying these acts of financial benevolence don’t affect us. Surely, they do.
By all means, let’s not have just one country default. Let’s redistribute what’s left of the rest of our money so we all can share in the chaos.
